History of Stand Up 2 Ataxia
In the past, the annual benefit that Stand Up 2 Ataxia is hosting has been organized by friends and family of Karen Frigstad. Karen's Hope organized their 12th and final benefit in June of 2013. Stand Up 2 Ataxia wishes to continue the great work and contributions of Karen's Hope. We hope to organize an annual benefit that will be as successful as it has been in the previous years. All proceeds will be donated to the Bob Allison Ataxia Research Center (BAARC) at the University of Minnesota. Having a loved one who has recently been diagnosed with ataxia, it is our goal to increase awareness about ataxia and to raise money that will go toward the research of ataxia. We chose BAARC because it is devoted to understanding ataxia, searching for treatment options, and pursuing a cure.
Individuals giving their time and effort, all for their own special reasons, are organizing this charity event. These are the people who work hard behind the scenes to make this event successful and as much fun as possible. If you would like to join the committee or volunteer, please contact us.
